Barton Johns

Barton Johns is a highly experienced Project Director with a proven track record of delivering complex projects in the construction industry. With over 15 years of experience, Barton has worked on a wide range of projects, including defense, education, and commercial sectors.

Currently, Barton serves as the Director at Engine Room VM, where he is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-profile projects. Prior to this, he held the position of Project Director, Defence & Regional Security at Jacobs from 2021 to 2025.

During his tenure at Jacobs, he successfully managed multiple defense projects, such as the ESTL0019PH7B Facilities to Support LAND 19 Ph 7B Short Range Ground Based Air Defence (SRGBAD) project at RAAF Base Edinburgh, SA.

Before joining Jacobs, Barton worked as a Senior Project Manager at RPS from 2012 to 2021. During this time, he managed various projects for the Department of Defence, School Infrastructure NSW, and Qantas.

Notable projects include the HMAS Cerberus Redevelopment Project in Crib Point, Vic ($463m) and the Moorebank Units Relocation (MUR) Project at Holsworthy Barracks, NSW ($900m).

Barton's earlier roles include Project Manager at Gallagher Jeffs Consulting, where he delivered retail and commercial fit-out projects for clients such as St George Bank, NAB, and Disney. He also worked as a Consultant at Evans & Peck and a Contract Administrator at Kell & Rigby.

Barton holds a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management (Hons) from Western Sydney University. He is passionate about delivering projects that exceed client expectations and contribute to the growth and development of the communities they serve.
