Dan Atkins leads one of Australia’s largest defence infrastructure portfolios with purpose and precision. At Jacobs, he oversees a national team delivering more than $20 billion in capital works, helping government clients make smarter decisions around project delivery, resilience, and return on investment.
With decades of hands-on project management, Dan has directed works across defence estates, health, immigration, and critical infrastructure. He’s held senior roles in government and consultancy, including Aurecon, RPS, and the Department of Defence. Across it all, he’s focused on performance, collaboration, and building teams that solve real-world problems.
Dan is widely respected for his ability to align strategy with delivery. He supports over 80 project managers across Australia and leads five regional team leaders. Known for balancing people-first leadership with strong commercial acumen, Dan fosters a culture of care, clarity, and accountability.
He’s just as effective working with senior executives as he is supporting teams on site. He’s led national teams on $4.5 billion programs, shaped major tenders, and advised on first-pass and second-pass government approvals.
Dan Atkins is a seasoned Project Director with over 20 years of experience in government procurement, commercial construction, and complex infrastructure projects. Currently serving as Section Leader for Defence Infrastructure & Delivery Solutions ANZ at Jacobs, Dan excels in managing diverse and challenging projects.
