GUPA Gains the Financial Clarity to Act Faster with Mastt

Background

GUPA manages development from land acquisition through design, permits, and construction. Project Manager Arantxa Gispert Chávez coordinates external architects, engineers, and contractors. Challenge: Separate Files Slowed Access to Budget Information

GUPA managed budgets using Excel templates. When finance or leadership requested an update, checking the current position meant searching through files, sometimes at short notice.

Contractor payment arrangements were also not readily visible to finance. The team relied on Arantxa to communicate what was due and when, making upcoming payments harder to coordinate.

After evaluating other software, GUPA chose Mastt for its ease of use and visual dashboard, which helped communicate the project position to finance and leadership.

Arantxa uses Mastt's cost management module to review contracts against budget and track payments. One contractor held several contracts across different specialties. Arantxa could review them together, check previous payments, and see the remaining balance.

These records help Arantxa coordinate upcoming payments with finance and check contractor balances at closeout, reducing the need to consult separate documents and receipts.

Impact: Spotting Opportunities to Offset Cost Increases

The value became clear when a project required additional structural reinforcement. The work was necessary and brought a substantial extra cost to that part of the budget.

With the overall project budget visible in Mastt, the team could look for opportunities to reduce spending in other areas and limit the effect of the increase.

An Established Workflow for Future Projects

With Mastt integrated into the team’s project and finance processes, Arantxa expects to apply that established workflow to future projects.

“For the future projects, it will be really useful because we already have a way of using Mastt and adapted that to the company.”
